Mike Lorenz…

guitarist/composer/educator, hails from Bethlehem, PA. For over a decade, Mike has kept a busy schedule as a freelancing performer and educator, leading his trio/quartet in performances up and down the Northeast Corridor on many festivals and club stages. Hailed as "an artist with a relentless and finely focused vision," Lorenz has released many recordings including various projects with a variety of groups. Most recently he has been heard on releases by Chicago-based saxophonist Michael Hudson-Casanova's group HeyMan and releases by Philadelphia bassist Nicholas Krolak.

His trio pulls from a wide range of influences - classic jazz guitar, the music of ECM, folk music, singer-songwriters, indie rock, chamber pop, free jazz, and acoustic music. In 2026, Mike will release I’m Not There, an album comprised of music for guitar trio, and his first solo release since 2018’s speak between.
